Free Flea Control – Kansas State University Study
A team of veterinary students and veterinarians from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University is in the Tampa and New Port Richey areas again this summer conducting a flea control study with FDA and EPA approved products that are provided FREE of charge for qualifying households. This is part of an ongoing research program that started in Tampa in 1990. The objective of this long term project is to evaluate the performance of flea control products here in central Florida.
To qualify: 
- You must have at least one dog with FLEAS that stays inside for at least 12 hours a day and is friendly
- Dogs must be at least 6 months of age and cannot be pregnant or nursing
- There can be cats in the home, but the total number of dogs and cats cannot exceed 5

The products we are evaluating are safe, approved the FDA or EPA and are sold at your local veterinarian’s office. This is a fully funded research project and there is no cost to participate and we will not offer any product or service for sale. Due to humane considerations, there are no placebo treatment groups, meaning all pets are treated with "real" product.
